  • Home visit – £65

Referral by a doctor is not a requirement. You can self-refer and we can usually offer you an appointment on the day or within 24 hours. However, if you are seeking reimbursement from private health insurance companies, you need to check if your insurer needs a GP/consulant referral. At your first visit, the physiotherapist will give you some idea of the number of treatments you will need.

We do maintain close relationships with all our patients’ doctors – both GPs and consultants – and unless requested not to, we will write to them outlining your condition / progress etc.

If you would like to make an appointment or require further advice, please phone 01892 785095 (for all clinics). Please note that we have a 24hr cancellation policy so if you need to cancel your appointment, please do so in order to avoid being charged.

Information on using private insurance

Wadhurst, Crowborough and Heathfield Physiotherapy clinic is recognised by all the major health insurance companies.

Can I claim on my insurance?

Probably. Most policies include physiotherapy, but you must read the actual details of your individual policy. Many policies only include treatment as an in-patient whilst others have exclusions for previous problems and many have excesses on them. Make sure you fully understand what you are entitled to, and ring and discuss it with your insurer if you are unsure.

How do I make a claim?

Some insurance companies insist that you make contact with your GP, consultant or hospital doctor before you begin physiotherapy, but some offer physiotherapy after having a telephone consultation with you. Your policy is between you and your insurer and we simply collect payment on your behalf. You need to contact your insurer before your appointment to make the process as painless as possble.

Insured with AVIVA? Please call us first before contacting them. We will give you a name and provider number so that Aviva can find us on their system.

What information do I need from my insurer?

Before your first appointment, you will need to supply us with the following information from your insurer:

  • Your policy or membership number
  • A treatment authorisation code
  • The number of treatments that your insurer is authorising.

Without this information, we are unable to bill your insurer and the request for payment will be sent directly to you.

The practice reception staff are used to helping people with any queries. Please phone and they will be more than happy to help you on 01892 785095.
