Appointments

Appointment times are available Monday to Friday and range between 7.30 and 8 pm depending on the day and clinic location. Home visits are available to those whom because of disability are unable to attend the clinics.

Initial private appointments are 30-40 minutes but can, if the condition demands, be 1 hour. Subsequent appointments  vary with the problem and will range from 30 to 40 minutes.

Referral by a doctor is not a requirement. You can self refer and we can usualy offer you an appointment on the day or within 24 hrs. However, if you are seeking reimbursement from private health insurance companies you need to check if your insurer needs a GP/consultant referral. At your first visit the physiotherapist will  give you some idea of the number of treatments you will need.

We do maintain close relationships with all our patient's doctors — both GPs and consultants — and unless requested not to, will write to them outlining the condition, progress etc.

If you would like to make an appointment or require further advice please email us, phone 01892 785095 (Wadhurst) or 01892 668968 (Crowborough) or book online. Please note that we have a 24 hour cancellation policy so if you need to cancel your appoinment, do so in time to avoid being charged.

Information on using private insurance

Wadhurst and Crowborough Physiotherapy is recognised by all the major insurers.

Can I claim on my insurance?

Probably. Most policies include physiotherapy, but you must read the actual details of your individual policy. Many policies only include treatment as an in-patient while others have exclusions for previous problems and many have excesses on them. Make sure you fully understand what you are entitled to.

How do I make a claim?

Some insurance companies insist that you make contact with your GP, consultant or hospital doctor before you begin physiotherapy but some offer physiotherapy after having a telephone consultation with you on the phone. Your policy is between you and the insurer and we simply collect payment on your behalf. You need to contact your insurer before your appointment to make the process as painless as possible. Most companies do not ask you to fill inclaim forms anymore. They will deal with your request over the phone.

You will be issued with a claim reference number. Bring or phone this through to the clinic AT OR BEFORE, the first appointment together with your policy number. Providing the clinic has all the necessary information, invoices will be sent directly to your insurer. Otherwise you will be expected to settle the account at the time of treatment.

The practice reception staff are used to helping people through what can be a very confusing issue. Please phone and they will be more than happy to help you on 01892 785095.
